The artwork strikes me as an attempt to make something very direct and physical visible, while at the same time resisting any unambiguous naming. The longer I look at it, the less I think in terms of "forms" and the more I become aware of presence. It is as if the black gestures are not signs pointing to something else, but rather the very event of the image itself. KI
